Science Under Siege
A great interview about the dangers of anti-science
This cartoon pokes fun at a sobering trend. Americans are viewing science and scientists less positively (Pew Research). The current administration is putting anti-science attitudes into policy. Slashing budgets for research and testing is short-sited and will make America weaker and less healthy. Weaker, because scientific innovation is a driver of economic activity, and less healthy because scientific testing has given us safe, effective medicine and protected us from fraudulent treatments.
I recommend this interview by Eric Topol on his Ground Truths Substack. Dr. Peter Hotez talks about his book, Science Under Siege, his long-fought battle against vaccine misinformation, and the dangers of the anti-science movement. (104 words)
